While visiting Gatlinburg, it seemed that every corner had a candy shop, ice cream store, or fudge shop. Candy must have been cemented into my head by the time I got home. I think candy must be its own food group. I crave it almost as much as bread, pasta and cheese. My favorite candy is probably tootsie rolls or caramel creams (Bull’s Eyes).
What is your favorite candy?
I wasn’t a 60’s girl, but I do love 60’s music!! I have included a few of my favorite songs on this icad (index card a day).
What are your favorite songs from the 60’s?
The theme for this icad was landscape. Weeeelll, it started out as a landscape, but I went a little too far with the watercolors and it no longer resembled a landscape. So, circles to the rescue!!
Icad (Index Card a Day) has been so much fun this summer. Daisy Yellow has some wonderful prompts and themes to follow. You can find the prompts and themes at her blog here. The prompts are suggestions so they aren’t mandatory, but they do get you thinking. Sometimes like in the Icad above I just do my own thing. I love playing!!!!
Venn Diagrams are a staple in my line of work. When you need students to understand how two subjects, animals, book, etc. are the same and different, a Venn Diagram can help. It is a pictorial representation of how 2 things can be the same and how they can be different. In my picture above I have shown how different scrapbook paper (left circle) is from Deli paper (right circle). In the middle where the circles overlap the diagram shows what they have in common. They are both types of paper. Venn Diagrams can be used for anything.
Every summer we would have hummingbirds arrive at the house. They would fly right up to the window in the backyard as if to say, “We’re back!” We would make them some food and when they were running low they would let us know. I always wondered how they could travel so far away, yet find our little spot on the globe ever year. They are amazing!
For this icad (index card a day) I challenged myself to only use the things on my table. I used an index card that I had already painted. The rest of the card is covered with stickers and scrap papers. I hope to challenge myself more with other scrap papers I have on my table.
