Today is Mother’s Day here in the US so I decided to create a flower for my Mother to honor her. The background was made from dylusions paints and stencils.
Dede Willingham is such a talented artist. Each week she does a Youtube video called “Coffee and Art in the Morning.” I was watching one of her Youtube videos called “Making a Magazine Art Journal” and was amazed how she turned an ordinary magazine page into a work of art. I wanted to give it a try. I think I need to keep working at it some more. Happy Creating!!
Happy Halloween everyone!! I have had another opportunity to be a guest designer for Ranger Ink. I used many Ranger Ink and Dylusions products. You can see the project stepped out here or you can go to Ranger Ink’s website then click on Projects at the top. There are many wonderful projects there by some talented people. The above picture is the foldable closed.
The foldable opened up.
The foldable with all the inserts open. You can see how the foldable opens at the end of my project on Ranger Ink’s website. Have a great day!!
I have been given the opportunity to be a guest designer for Ranger Ink. Creating this journal page was such an honor. I have loved Ranger’s products ever since I purchased my first Distress Ink pad many years ago. Ranger is a company that specializes in innovative craft products. They have five signature designers: Tim Holtz, Dyan Reaveley, Dina Wakley, Wendy Vecchi, and Susan Lenart Kazmer. I was asked to create a project using Dyan Reaveley’s Dylusions products. Check out the step by step process for the journal page above HERE. You can also go to Ranger Ink and click on projects to find more inspiration using Ranger’s products.
Doodling over the weekend in my art journal. Doodling isnt relaxing. I’m not very good at doodling. Truely I have never doodled. When I’m on the phone or in a meeting I do not doodle. I guess I’m not sure where the marks should go. Outlining images makes sense but not all the time. Changing pen colors is an option but white adds that extra pop. When should I use colored markers or just black and white? What marks should I make to highlight the image? What kinds of marks will detract from the image? These are the constant questions I have while doodling.
Do you find doodling relaxing or stressful?
I love to play! Bright colors make me happy. Hurricane season is starting so I decided to make the most of it and play with Dyan Reaveley’s paints. Even though there is a tropical depression off the coast right now, Im going to have a fabulously long weekend and color my world with paint! Her paints are quite unique. When you add Dyan’s paint to a page it dries super fast. If you are impatient (like me) these paints are for you.
Have you played with Dyan Reaveley’s paints?
