This is a beautiful drawing of the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina. It was drawn by Shane Kindschi who is the son of a friend if mine. I bought this print when I was visiting the Biltmore House.
The Biltmore House was built in the late 1800s by George Vanderbuilt. It is the largest privately owned house in the United States and a tourist attraction. The house is 178,926 square feet on 8,000 acres. From the time it was built, it had electricity. Also there is an indoor pool and a bowling alley.
The Vanderbuilts wanted it to be a working estate so a dairy was established on the estate. In 1985 the grandson of George Vanderbuilt, William Cecil turned the dairy into a winery. Today 170,000 cases of wine is sold each year. Also you can eat at various restaurants and stay in 4 star rooms on the estate. You can learn more about the Biltmore House here.
I will post some of my Biltmore House pictures later on my blog.
